Default Document Settings

The "Default Document Settings" button allows you to control the default visual appearance for your page.
Options:
Background Color:Sets the background color for the page
Background Gradient:Rather than having a single plain color as your page background, Internet Explorer allows you to have "gradient" backgrounds which smoothly "fade" from one color into another, either vertically, or horizontally. If a gradient is selected, a seconds "color" field will appear allow you to set the two colors to "fade" between (Color 1 and Color 2). Note: Other browsers do not currently support gradient background. If you wish to have a gradient background that is compatible with all browsers, you are advised to create one as an "image", and set that as the background
Background Image:Defines the location of an image file to be tiled as the page's background. If you are using an image as your page background, it is also advisable to set a background color that is similar to the prominent color of your image. This is to allow any text in your page to be visible if the background image is slow loading, or fails to load for whatever reason
Default Font:Sets the default font for text in your page. Most browsers default to "Times New Roman" if no default font is specified
Default Font Size:Sets a default size for text in your page - Read more about units
Default Font Color:Sets the font (foreground) color for the page
Normal Link Color:The color that unvisited links in your page will appear in. On most browsers, the default color is Blue. By default, links appear underlined, unchecking the "Underline" box will turn off underlining for links
Hover Link Color:The color that links in your page will change to when the mouse "hovers" over them. By default, links appear underlined, unchecking the "Underline" box will turn off underlining for links
Active Link Color:The color that links in your page will change to whilst they are being clicked. On most browsers, the default color is Red. By default, links appear underlined, unchecking the "Underline" box will turn off underlining for links
Visited Link Color:The color that links in your page will appear in if a visitor has already visited the link. On most browsers, the default color is Purple. By default, links appear underlined, unchecking the "Underline" box will turn off underlining for links
Margins:The Margin settings control how close to the edge of the browser window you page content will be allowed to extend. By default, most browsers "indent" content slightly, the "Margins" settings can override this
Allow Background to Scroll:By default, when you scroll a webpage, the background scrolls at the same rate as the page content. This option allows you to "glue" the background so that if your page is scrolled by a visitor, the background will stay put and the content will appear to "float" over it
Allow Document to Scroll:If your page only contains a small amount of content, you may wish to "turn off" scrollbars for the page, using this option. Note: if your content extends past the viewable area, visitors will not be able to scroll it into view
Scrollbar Colors:Internet Explorer allows color customisation of every part of the scrollbars for your page (and any elements within it which have scrollbars, such as <TEXTAREAS>)

Style Class:Attach a previously defined Style Class to your page to further customize its appearance
TestClicking the "Test" button will pop open a small window instantly previewing all the settings from this screen
